KH13 first broke the news and reports that the employee’s profile from Osaka, Japan shows him working at Square Enix for a time span of 10 months from August 2014 to June 2015 which definitely seems to line up with the games production time frame.

The first thing he lists in his experience is working on a game called Kingdom Hearts 2.9 which seems to coming out for both PS3 and PS4. Many are already speculating that this could be a remaster of the 3DS exclusive series entry, Dream Drop Distance.

The game designer also lists detailed work on his involvement with Kingdom Hearts III which includes some very precise wording and mentions things such as the Gummi Ship, multiplayer, and even Pixar.

Of course all of this is speculation, and its worth noting that this employee’s profile has only 2 connections so it may very well be a fake, but there are definitely some signs that this may be real as well. Although I couldn’t personally check the legitamacy of this leak due to some intense privacy restrictions, other sources seem to have had better luck and corroborate the story.

The first sign that leads me to believe this is a real, authentic listing is that around the time of E3 2015, there was a leak of Square Enix’s press schedule before their conference which included a game known as Kingdom Hearts 2.9. Now of course this game was never shown at the actual presentation, but I definitely think it’s too similar of a coincidence to not be real.

On top of that, after examining the employee’s profile a little further, everything seems to be rather genuine. If someone really did take the time to go out of their way to set this profile up, they did a rather intricate job and put more work into it than 50% of the LinkedIn profiles I see of actual people.

So what do you think? Is this just another ploy to rile up fans’ emotions or could this be a legit reveal? Let us know in the comments below!
