This new patch aims to expand on the love triangle between Geralt, Triss and Yennefer. Answering fan feedback, The Witcher 3 developer took to the horn and told Kotaku:
During the course of The Witcher 3, Geralt has the option to rekindle old romances between two flames. One of them being his first love, a black-haired sorceress named Yennefer, and another being her red-headed friend Triss. The The Witcher books, Geralt and Yennefer are an item, but in the first Witcher game Geralt loses his memory. In The Witcher 2, after he loses his memory, he goes for Triss not knowing who he was with beforehand. Once he gets his memory back he remembers Yennefer. It all comes to a head in The Witcher 3 as both girls take a stab at him.
The option of trying to get back with one or another is present in The Witcher 3, but now those options will be expanded. No word yet when this patch will be released.
This October The Witcher 3 will get its first expansion pack, Hearts of Stone, which adds 10 more hours of content to explore.
